A weird murder mystery that takes place in the Pennsylvania woods. A doctor just out of medical school takes over the practice of another doctor for three months while he is on vacation. The book is very atmospheric and the new doctor tries to get to the bottom of odd occurrences and the murder of a cyclist which was followed by more attacks and murder. The murderer is found to be a werewolf, this is at least partially rationalized but with the possibility left open that the murderer was truly a werewolf.

It was a stupid thing to do - going back there - but I went anyway. April 10th, I haven’t slept at all and I’m so tired but every time I try to sleep, I see it again.
Every time I close my eyes, I am back in the woods with that thing and it’s standing over me about to sink its teeth into my neck and I scream and find myself back here. I have several of these, and “Mysterious Things in the Woods” is the latest in the collection.
